This was actually planned long ago, before her death from respiratory failure over the weekend.

Pleshette was set to get her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 31, which is also her birthday. No word yet on whether or not the ceremony will still go ahead on that day, but I’m sure that Pleshette will get her star on the sidewalk at some point.

I’ve been checking around online and there’s a site called More Than Emily that has a nice tribute to Pleshette, as does Ken Levine over at his blog. I would also guess that at some point TV Land will run a tribute to her too, perhaps a marathon of Bob Newhart Show episodes (the pic above is from this past September, when she appeared at a Bob Newhart Show reunion put on by TV Land at the Paley Center For Media, so I would assume that the network has something planned for her).

You can watch episodes of the show for free at AOL Video. The theme song to the show is actually called “Home To Emily.” I think I’m going to pop the DVDs in my player today and watch a few episodes.
