News > Driving Lessons for Mulroney & Davis

Written by Lucas C Haberstich

Hope Davis and Dermot Mulroney have signed on for a new indie dramedy, Variety reports.

The film, Driving Lessons, "revolves around a troubled family who get a second chance at happiness when the mother suffers a memory loss and can't recall the last 15 years of her life".  Hope Davis, hardly a newcomer to the indie scene, plays the mother.

Written by television writer Mark Lisson with Finnish commercial director Vivi Friedman attached to direct (her first full-length), this movie brings some new talent to the big screen.  I just hope they don't squander their chance with a by-the-numbers servicing of the double-clichéd 'memory loss' plot.
