According to Pinellas County authorities, Mary Delgado who is a former cheerleader with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was arrested around Wednesday midnight on the charges that she had punch her fianc such that it lead his upper lip to bleed. But, the original reports said that Delgado had attacked her fianc of three years with whom she had live-in relationship and also said that it was not sure whether the victim was Byron Velvick.

According to a police affidavit, she was under the influence of alcohol when arrested in Tampa and was charged with battery. But, the Sheriff officials said that she was released on Wednesday afternoon.
