I woke up this morning after writing the Ford rant to find this gem of a news item. The car that will replace theTaurus shall be named Fusion. The original name, Futura, could not be used because that’s what Pep Boys calls theirdiscount line of tires. Does Fusion actually sound better than Taurus? Does it mean anything? I thought this would be asedan. Fusion sounds like the name of a crossover vehicle, SUV, 3-door hatchback, basically anything but a high volumesedan. But it is better than Futura and it starts with an “F” which I guess is a theme for “F”ord.
